Kurzbeschreibung
If you register or deregister in the municipality of Alfter, you will receive a one-off written confirmation free of charge. In addition, a registration certificate can be issued to you at a later date for a fee.

Beschreibung
The registration certificate serves as a proof to third parties of your existing registration in a current apartment or house. It can be used for official and private purposes.
The simple registration certificate contains:
- family name
- previous names
- first names
- doctoral degree
- religious name, stage name
- date and place of birth and, if born abroad, also the coutry of birth
- current addresses, marked according to main and secondary residence
You can submit the application online or in person in the registration office.
You do not need to submit any documents for the online application.
When applying for a simple registration certificate at the registration office, you will need to present an identification document (e. g. ID card or passport). If a person authorized in writing is submitting the application on your behalf, the written power of attorney and a copy of your ID document must be presented when submitting the application.

You will usually receive a response to your application within 3 to 7 working days.

The simple registration certificate appears in a new window at the end of the application process. Do NOT close this window immediately, otherwise the process will be interrupted and you have to submit the application again. Once you have downloaded your simple registration certificate, you can close the window.
Please note: The registration certificate is not used to report a change of residence!
A certificate, for example for statutory (German) pension purposes (not company or foreign pensions), the employment office, the job center, the child benefit fund or the German foundation for university admissions is free of charge upon presentation of proof. It can only be issued free of charge if you present yourself in person.
There are two types of certificates of registration available, a simple version ("Einfache Meldebescheinigung") and an extended version ("Erweiterte Meldebescheinigung"). The simple certificate is sufficient to proof your registration in your current apartment towards third parties. You need an extended registration certificate if you would like to marry or need to proof your identity towards a consulat or an embassy.
Technical note: This service is an online service of the municipality of Alfter. If you cancel the application, you will not be redirected back to this portal, but to the website of the municipality of Alfter.
You can only apply for a simple registration certificate from the municipality of Alfter if your current place of residence is registered in Alfter.
The simple registration certificate is sent by post with a seal impression and signature to your active registration address in the population register.
A fee of 9.00 euros is charged for a simple registration certificate. When applying online, payment must also be made online.
