If you need proof of your birth, you can apply for this online at the registry office of the municipality of Alfter if you were born in Alfter.

Beschreibung
The birth certificate proofs the birth of a person, their first and last names and the details of their parents.
Possible certificate types are:
- DIN A4
- family register format
- certified printout from the register
- international certificates
A birth certificate can also be issued on a multilingual form, especially for use abroad (international birth certificate in accordance with the convention of 8th September 1976 on the issue of multilingual extracts from civil status records). You can use the certificates in many countries without a translation.
When applying online, you must be able to provide personal details.
When applying in person, you must bring the following documents with you:
- Your identity card or passport
- if you are applying for or collecting the card from a person you trust:
- Written power of attorney from the authorized person,
- their identity card (original or certified copy) or
- passport (original or certified copy) and
- the identity card or passport of the authorized person
- For other persons:
- proof of their legal interest.
When applying in writing, you must submit
- An informal letter to the registry office of the municipality of Alfter requesting that a birth certificate be issued to you
- The letter should include
- Your surname and first name,
- Your date and place of birth,
- the surname and first name of your parents,
- as well as the registry office and the registration number (if known)
You must also enclose a certified copy of your identity card or passport.

As a rule, you will receive the requested documents by post within 7 working days. Alternatively, you can also collect them in person from the municipality of Alfter.

The notification of a birth must be made on site by both parents and cannot be made online.

Please note that the birth register is archived after 110 years, after which it is no longer possible to submit an application. If you require a document from the archive, please contact the registry office by e-mail at standesamt@alfter.de.
Due to the high volume of work at the registry office, please make an appointment in advance by calling 0228 6484-117 for all matters concerning the registry office (e. g. certificates, births, marriages, deaths). Thank you for your understanding.
For births prior to August 1, 1969, please contact the city of Bonn.

The registry office of the municipality of Alfter must be responsible, i. e. it must have already certified the birth.
You are eligible to apply under the following conditions:
- You are at least 16 years old
- You are the person to whom the birth certificate refers
- You are the spouse or civil partner (within the meaning of the Registered Civil Partnership Act) of the person to whom the birth certificate refers
- You are an ancestor or descendant of the person concerned
- You are a brother or sister of the person concerned and have a legitimate interest
- Other persons, including close relatives such as aunts and uncles, will only receive a certificate if they can credibly demonstrate a legal interest (e. g. by means of a letter from the probate court)
You can submit the application to the registry office of the municipality of Alfter electronically, by post or in person.
Online application:
- Complete the online application and send it off.
- The birth certificate will be sent to you by post.
Applying in person:
- Go to the registry office in the municipality of Alfter.
- Please bring the required documents with you and present them for identification.
- You pay the fee when you apply at the registry office.
- The birth certificate will be sent to you by post.
Application by post or fax:
- Send an informal letter to the registry office of the municipality of Alfter requesting that a birth certificate be issued for you.
- Enclose a certified copy of your identity card or your passport with the letter.
- You will receive a notification of fees when the birth certificate is sent to you by post.
Application for a court decision.
The fee ist 10 euros for the first certificate. A fee of 5 euros is charged for each additional certificate of this type.
When applying online, the fee must be paid online after completing the application.
